The Ministry of Petroleum today, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bianchi Gold Trading Investment Company, marking a significant step toward strengthening investment in South Sudan's oil, gas, and petroleum refining industries.

Undersecretary of Ministry of Petroleum Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar signed the Memorandum on the behalf of the government of South Sudan, while Eng. Abubaker Abass Ale Zein signed on behalf of Bianchi Gold Trading Company.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar welcomed the company into South Sudan's petroleum sector and commended its commitment to invest their financial and technical resources to support the country's Oil Industry. Dr. Santino emphasized that strategic partnerships with reputable investors like Bianchi is essential to accelerate economic growth, enhance energy security and promoting sustainable national development.

Dr. Santino noted that the Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for cooperation in several key areas, including petroleum exploration and development, oil and gas infrastructure, refineries, storage and distribution facilities, technical and feasibility studies, as well as capacity-building initiatives aimed at developing the skills of South Sudanese professionals in the petroleum sector.

He also, emphasis that, the partnership reflects the Ministry's commitment to create a conducive environment for potential investors, to ensure the efficient utilization of the petroleum resources for the benefit of the nation. 

The Undersecretary further stated that the agreement provides a foundation for identifying viable investment opportunities that will deliver mutual benefits to both parties while supporting the Government's vision of maximizing the value of the nation's natural resources.

Representing BIANCHI Gold Trading Investment Company, the Director of Projects and Business Development, Eng. Abubaker Abbas Al-Zain, described the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding as an important milestone in establishing a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum.

He explained that the MoU outlines the framework for collaboration, including implementation timelines and the necessary technical and operational steps required to commence investment activities. He reaffirmed the company's commitment to work closely with the Ministry to advance projects that will contribute to the growth and modernization of South Sudan's petroleum industry.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding underscores the Ministry of Petroleum's continued efforts to attract credible international investors, strengthen strategic partnerships and accelerate the development of the country's oil and gas industry as a key driver of economic transformation and sustainable development.
